Opening Your MAZDA Key Fob

One way that Mazda makes things convenient is that a Mazda key fob battery replacement in Albany is actually a pretty simple process. All you need to do is follow these steps:

1. Press the auxiliary key button on the back of your key fob to remove the metal auxiliary key.
2. With the metal key gone, you’ll see a slot on either side of the key fob case.
3. With the tape-wrapped flathead screwdriver, pry open the case one side at a time. Go gently to avoid damage to the key.
4. This will remove the case. Place it in a location you won’t easily lose track of.

Replacing Your MAZDA Key Battery

After you open up the Mazda key fob, next comes the unlocking and replacement of your Mazda key battery. This will just take a second:

1. Take out the battery cap and put it by the key fob case.
2. Your Mazda key fob battery should be fully exposed. Remove it, but be sure not to damage the small rubber ring it sits upon.
3. If you scratched or damaged the rubber ring, you’ll want to replace this component before moving on.
4. With the ring put in place, take the new replacement battery and set it at its position in the key fob. The positive (+) side should be up, facing you.
5. Return the battery cover to where it should be, then reattach both sides of the key fob case. Press until you hear them click into place.
